Omar QaradaNovember 5 - The case of a trio of Paralympic athletes from Jordan who were due to compete at London 2012 before being withdrawn following allegations of sex offences will have their case heard at a court in Northern Ireland on November 27.


Omar Sami Qaradhi (pictured), Faisal Hammash and Motaz Al Junaidi, three members of the Jordanian powerlifting squad, were accused of committing a series of crimes while training in County Antrim ahead of London 2012. 

They were subsequently withdrawn from the Games.

A lawyer for the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) told Antrim Magistrates' Court that police had informed the PPS they were still awaiting tests on evidence.

Among the items were those being examined by E technology experts, he said.

Wheelchair user Qaradhi, 31, faces three charges of sexual assault, two against a child, and one of voyeurism after allegedly entering a women's changing room at the Antrim Forum leisure centre.

Hammash, 35, is accused of inciting two girls to engage in sexual activity.

Power lifter Al Junaidi, 45, who is also a wheelchair user, is accused of sexual assault.

All three men deny the charges.

The three were released on combined bail and sureties of £5,500 ($8,800/€6,900) each when they first appeared in court in August.
