Astana ArlensDecember 8 - The British Lionhearts saw their undefeated run in the World Series of Boxing (WSB) end in emphatic fashion as they were crushed 5-0 in their away match up with the formidable Astana Arlans Kazakhstan at the Almaty Sports Palace.

The Lionhearts have showed impressive form as they beat USA Knockouts in their first match in California before routing reigning champions Dolce & Gabbana Italia Thunder in Wales last month, but the Kazakhstan franchise proved far too strong for the Britons as they won every single fight.

A forgettable night for the Lionhearts began as Kazakhstan's Miras Zhakupov scored an easy unanimous decision over Gamal Yafai at bantamweight before Yerzhan Mussafirov (pictured top, right) narrowly defeated Scottish southpaw Josh Taylor (pictured top, left) at lightweight to make it 2-0 to the hosts.

The contest was over by the next fight as Kazakhstan's Konstantin Snigur beat Aston Brown at middleweight in an entertaining bout before light heavyweight Ainar Karlon dominated Babacar Kamara of the Lionhearts to make it 4-0.

It was left to Kazakhstan's impressive Filip Hrgović to close the show as the reigning WSB heavyweight champion won all five rounds against the Lionheart's Mohamed Arjaoui to give his franchise a perfect 5-0 win.

The Kazak team next host Dolce & Gabbana Italia Thunder later this month, while the Lionhearts will be hoping to bounce back when they host the German Eagles at Earl's Court in London that same night on December 14.

The Lionhearts are expected to be far stronger in London, however, as Olympic silver medallist Fred Evans of Wales has already been confirmed in the line-up alongside fellow European champions Andrew Selby and Joe Ward.

All three made their WSB debuts against Dolce & Gabbana Italia Thunder in Wales last month, where all secured a victory for the Lionhearts.
