Lampe took the prestigious trophy after she won two gold medals at two international competitions in November.

Her first gold came in the 48 kg division at the Hargobind International in British Columbia where she went 3-0 in the tournament and defeated Canada's Jasmine Mian in the final.

Lampe then added a second gold in the same weight division at the New York Athletic Club International as she won two bouts in a two-athlete round robin where she defeated Ai Nakaya of Japan and Lyndsey Almeida of Canada.

In second place for the female prize was figure skater Ashley Wagner while cyclist Katie Compton took third sport.

To take the men's prize, Holcomb completed a sweep of the two-man bobsled World Cup races as he won three gold medals in three events alongside teammates Steve Langton and Curt Tomasevicz.


Holcomb also claimed two silver medals in the four-man bobsled races to bring his total November medal count to five.

In second place for the USOC Male Athlete of the Month was wheelchair tennis star David Wagner while skier Marco Sullivan took the bronze.

Meanwhile the Team of the Month prize went to the US women's 4x5-kilometer cross-country ski team.

Holly Brooks, Kikkan Randall and Liz Stephen made history with their its first ever FIS World Cup relay podium in the 4x5 relay in Sweeden as they outsprinted Norway to claim bronze.

In second place for the Team of the Month prize where wheelchair doubles pair Wagner and Nick Taylor while the figure skating duo of Meryl Davis and Charlie White rounded out the voting in third.
