2015 Gwangju Universiade Organising Committee Son Yeon-Jae of South KoreaDecember 20 - Gwangju 2015 today appointed London 2012 rhythmic gymnast Olympian Son Yeon-Jae as its newest ambassador to boost preparations for the country's Summer Universiade in three years time.

The announcement follows a successful year for the 18-year old South Korean (pictured top, right) after she earlier won bronze medals in the 2012 Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup Series and the Moscow Grand Prix and went on to finish fifth in the individual all-round gymnastics at London 2012.

The appointment took place during a ceremony at the Gwangju City Hall at which key players, including Gwangju 2015 chair Mayor Kang Un-tae, secretary general Kim Yoon-suk and Kim Hong-sik, vice-chairman of the Gwangju Sport Council, were in attendance.

Son will participate in a variety of domestic and international events, providing lectures and donations, building up to the event being held across the South Jeolla Province in July 2015.
