The 19-year-old sprinter and hurdler (pictured top, centre) will be looking to add to the gold he won in the 110 metres hurdles at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics and the silver he took in the same event at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Junior Championships in Barcelona last year as he head to the Tatarstan capital to compete in the 100m and 200m events.

Tasmanian javelin thrower Hamish Peacock is another of the stand-out names on the roster, along with Commonwealth Games bronze medal-winning triple jumper Alwyn Jones.

"The Qantas Australian Athletics Championships and Selection Trial were the basis for selection to the athletics team for the World University Games and we are very proud to be able to pick such a strong and big team," said Dion Russell, Athletics Australia's chair of selectors.

"With the exception of one athlete who had a medical exemption, all those selected competed at the Nationals and have achieved at least one qualifying standard for the World University Games.

"This is a fantastic result, and highlights the selection philosophy in 2013 that emphasises the importance of the trial."

Martin Roberts, Chef de Mission of the Australian Uniroos, added: "This team has a good mix of youth and talent and we hope to build on the success of the past games.

"If recent performances at the Australian Championships are anything to go by, we are in for an exciting Games."
