The week-long World Championships and World Age-Group Competition selection event, scheduled to take place at the Municipal Auditorium on July 3 and 10, will attract the nation's finest trampoline and tumbling athletes to compete in levels 5-10 and elite.

"We are excited to welcome USA Gymnastics back to KC," said Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association President and chief executive Rick Hughes.

"Over the course of seven days, this group will bring approximately 10,000 attendees."

He added that the US Trampoline and Tumbling Championships is expected to deliver an economic impact of more than $4.9 million (£3.1 million/€3.9 million) to the local economy of Kansas City, which last hosted the event in 2008.

The Elite Division, which determines the junior and senior national champions, and the Junior Olympic Division, which features competition for levels 5-10, will include events in trampoline, double mini-trampoline, synchronised trampoline and tumbling for both men and women.

The gymnasts will earn points toward making the junior and senior national teams.

Meanwhile, the Regional All-Stars competition features the level 10 regional champions aiming for the title of Grand Champion as the best overall Regional All-Star Team, with the region accumulating the highest combined score being named the Grand Champion Team.

The announcement comes just days after USA Gymnastics included tumbling, as well as team acrobatics, to its Gymnastics for All programme, which provides competitive and performance opportunities for all levels and ages that feature elements of all the gymnastics disciplines.
