Rival Josab Changa, marketing and communications manager of the Zambia Handball Federation, has threatened to challenge the result because he claims it was fixed.

"The elections were rigged by the incumbents and I will not accept these results because they do not reflect the will of the delegates," he told The Times of Zambia.

But the Electoral Commission of Zambia returning officer Alistair Kaleji, who monitored the ballot, disputed Changa's allegation and claimed that it had been conducted fairly.

Moyo, a 64-year-old accountant, had first been elected in 2005 and then re-elected in 2009.

Hazel Kennedy, 56, was also re-elected as general secretary for a third time.

She beat Zambia Judo Association  President Shapa Wakunguma, who, while stopping short of claiming electoral fraud, called on the officers to ensure more transparency.

"I believe the associations that were here have spoken," he told The Times of Zambia.
