Adrian Ditcham has been appointed as British Eventing's new regional coordinator for the South East ©British EventingJanuary 23 - British Eventing has appointed Adrian Ditcham, who project managed and built the London 2012 Olympic course, as its new regional coordinator for the South East.

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) technical advisor will support events affiliated to the national governing body across the area, including in Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey.

He will join an existing team of five regional coordinators around the United Kingdom.

"I am delighted that we have someone with Adrian's depth of knowledge and experience joining the team - it is great news for the events in the region," British Eventing sport operations manager Chris Farr said.

Ditcham is a former competitor in the sport and, as well as the Olympic course, has designed and built courses at the Burghley Horse Trials.

He also sits on the British Eventing Cross Country Advisory Group and Safety Committee.

"I am currently involved with many BE events in various different roles and see a perfect synergy between them and my new position," Ditcham said.

"I look forward to continuing to improve our sport and the product we offer our members in the future.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge of working with the current and potential new events in the south east region."

Ditcham is due to take up the post on February 1.
