The Malaysian's comments came following the first Main Coordination Commission (MCC) meeting between officials - including Organising Committee President Kim Sung Il - for the event, due to take place in the South Korean city on October 18 until 24.

"We've seen great and encouraging progress in the preparation of the Games...and with the able leadership of IAPGOC [Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games Organising Committee] President Kim Sung Il and his dedicated team, there is no doubt that come October, Incheon will be able to deliver an exciting, memorable and inspiring sporting showcase to the world," Zainal said.

"Challenges do come along the way, but with the great collaboration between APC and IAPGOC, I believe, come what may, we will sail through and have a great seven-day Games in October 2014."

The meeting covered topics including Games planning and operation, Ceremonies, sports, facilities, IT, medical services, anti-doping, classification and transportation, while the APC delegation inspected the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium and the Athletes' Village.

Plans were also discussed to ensure the event reaches as many spectators as possible through media campaigns, promotional activities and international television coverage.

"This include working out an effective media, television and social media initiatives which would help spread awareness, excitement and action of the Games across Asia as well as the global audience," Zainal added.

The 2014 Asian Para Games is expected to attract 5,000 athletes and officials to compete across 23 sports, namely athletics, swimming, five-a-side football, sitting volleyball, goalball, wheelchair tennis, archery, badminton, boccia, table tennis, wheelchair rugby, shooting, seven-a-side football, wheelchair basketball, lawn bowls, cycling, judo, wheelchair dance, sailing, tenpin bowling, rowing, wheelchair fencing and powerlifting.
