Double Olympic gold medallist and President of DAMAR Inc, Donna de Varona, will take part in the session "A Women's World: The Journey Towards Sporting Equality."

Following her double winning performances at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where she won gold in the 400 metres individual medley and 4x100m freestyle relay, Varona has enjoyed a successful career in sports broadcasting.

Her efforts towards the empowerment of girls and women in sport have seen her inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York, which was followed by her appointment to the United States Department of State's Empowerment of Girls and Women Through Sports Council by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Brett Gosper, chief executive of the International Rugby Board (IRB), has joined the line up for the session on "The New Face of Leadership."

He joins the likes of Vlad Marinescu, director general of SportAccord, Andrew Parsons, vice-President of the International Paralympic Committee, and Helena Alterby Nordstrom, chairman of the Ladies European Tour, on the session panel.

The President of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC), Gideon Sam, has been announced as the latest addition to the debate on "Establishing New Markets" in the City Forum.

Joining him on that panel will be Yusuf Hacisüleyman, chairman of the Mediterranean Association of Touristic Hoteliers; Gernot Leitner, chairman of Masterconcept, and Nikolay Peshin, Pro Rector of the Russian International Olympic University in Sochi.

New speakers joining the City Forum session on "Sharing the Bidding Process and Responsibilities" will be Susan Sawbridge, manager of event prospecting and bidding at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, and Henk Stokhof, head of the City of Amsterdam's Sports Department.

The SportAccord International Convention is due to be held from April 6 to 11 at the Susesi Convention Centre in Belek/Antalya.
