The 21-year-old two-time London 2012 Olympic medallist topped the podium in the floor, rings and vault competitions, as well as taking the team title at the continental event in Bulgaria's capital, Sofia.

"I didn't expect all these three [floor, rings and vault] gold medals today because I felt pretty tired from the team competition," Ablyazin said.

"I was prepared for a tough fight and tough it was.

"I'm absolutely thrilled with this result."

Greece's Elefthérios Kosmídis secured the silver medal in the floor competition, while there was a tie for the bronze between Britain's Daniel Purvis and Israel's Alexander Shatilov.

On the rings, Ablyazin tied for gold with his team mate and world silver medallist Aleksandr Balandin, with bronze going to last year's rings champion Samir Aït Saïd of France.

Ukrainian London 2012 medallist Ihor Radivilov claimed silver on vault behind the leading Russian, as his compatriot Oleh Vernyayev took the bronze.

Triple Summer Universiade medallist Vernyayev did, however, go two better to secure gold in the parallel bars competition, ahead of Russian David Belyavskiy and Epke Zonderland of the Netherlands in second and third place respectively.

Olympic and world champion Zonderland enjoyed more success today with gold in the horizontal bars contest.

"I did [a] very good job today," he said.

"On high bars my preparation was very clean and I'm happy with my result."

Two Britons, in the form of Sam Oldham and Kristian Thomas, claimed the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Elsewhere, Max Whitlock won Britain's only gold medal of the event finals as he topped the podium in the pommel horse competition.

The two-time Olympic medallist and last year's European floor champion was followed by silver medallist Krisztián Berki of Hungary and Slovenian bronze medal winner Sašo Bertoncelj.
