Turkish Airlines has extended its sponsorship of World Archery until the end of 2015 ©Turkish AirlinesTurkish Airlines will continue as the official airline of World Archery until the end of the 2015 season after the company revealed it has extended its sponsorship of the sport's world governing body for a further two years.

The renewed deal sees the strengthening of a relationship between the two parties that dates back to the launch of the Archery World Cup in 2006.

Since then, the partnership has supported the growth of the World Cup circuit and archery's position as one of the core Olympic sports.

Uğur Erdener, President of World Archery, welcomed the extension of the sponsorship deal.

"We are extremely thankful to Turkish Airlines for its continued support of not only our federation but our athletes, officials and staff that travel worldwide to events," the Turkish International Olympic Committee member said.

"Turkish Airlines is the best airline in Europe - and an airline that cares about its passengers and excellence, in aviation and in sport."

The deal also highlights archery's strong links with Turkey, which has hosted a World Cup stage in Antalya since the first edition in 2006.

Last year's World Archery Championships were also held in the nation, in the city of Belek, while Turkey's junior athletes are enjoying success, having secured medals at both the World Archery Youth Championships and the World Archery Indoor championships in the last six months.

Included in the Turkish Airlines sponsorship extension is the 12-kilogram archery equipment additional luggage allowance for all athletes, staff and officials travelling to World Archery events across the globe.
