The world governing body is seeking proposals from current and potential new partners to deliver the production, sales and distribution of live, news, highlights, magazine and other FEI programming across its most prestigious championships and events.

Included in the products on offer are the flagship events, the FEI World Equestrian Games and the European Championships in the Olympic disciplines of dressage, eventing and jumping.

The World Cups in the disciplines of jumping, dressage, driving and vaulting are also part of the package as is the main international team jumping series, the Nations Cup.

"We are aware that we owe our recent growth across the broadcast sector to our drive and commitment to excellence as we constantly strive to improve the delivery of our sport to global audiences," said Lisa Lazarus, FEI chief of strategy and business development.

"After a very successful period we are now looking to take the next step with our broadcast products to ensure the continued positive development of the sport.

"We value highly the work of our current partners in production, sales and distribution, but are aware that we also need to explore the constantly evolving media market as part of our responsibility towards our different stakeholders in order to maximise the global visibility of our sport."

In 2011 the FEI signed a deal with IMG Media, a division of the global sports, fashion and media company IMG Worldwide, which covered the worldwide broadcast distribution rights to the Nations Cup, jumping World Cup, dressage World Cup and the FEI Classics in eventing.

The deal also included the distribution of broadcast rights outside of European Broadcasting Union (EBU) territories to the 2011 and 2013 European Championships in jumping, dressage and eventing, as well as this year's World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

That agreement followed the renewal of a deal with the EBU which serves 85 national media organisations in 56 countries in and around Europe for major FEI events running through until the end of 2014.

The EBU-operated Eurovision has been named as the host broadcaster for the 2014 World Equestrian Games, due to take place from August 23 to September 7 in the French region.

"We are looking forward to receiving exciting and innovative proposals from both our current and potential new partners as we are convinced that by further enhancing the quality and variety of FEI programming and broadening distribution we can achieve extraordinary results together that will take the sport's global presence and commercial value to new levels," added Lazarus.

All parties interested in further information and submitting proposals are invited to contact FEI commercial manager, Christian Osterode, at [email protected].
