Committee Room 9 in Glasgow city centre will be the location of England House at the Commonwealth Games ©CGEEngland House, the official home for fans of Team England at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, is due to open its doors on Wednesday (July 23) in the heart of the Scottish city.

The venue, located at Committee Room 9, close to George Square and the City Chambers in the heart of Glasgow, will also serve as Team England's hospitality space throughout the Games which is scheduled to take place from Wednesday until August 3.

England House will provide fans and athletes' friends and family a place to gather to support Team England at the venue, which will be decked out in the red and white of the St George flag, watching all the action on the big screens.

There will be daily competitions for Team England prizes and food and drink available throughout the day.

There is also an open outdoor space with seating, while an exclusive Team England VIP area for invited guests will be in operation from July 24.

"I'm delighted that England House will be a hub for Team England fans in Glasgow," said chief executive of Commonwealth Games England Adam Paker.

"The city will be absolutely buzzing throughout the Games and I hope that the venue provides the stage for some great moments of celebration for the team.

"It really will be a home from home for Team England fans."

England will have one of the biggest delegations for the Games, with more than 650 athletes and team officials making their way to Glasgow.

Some of the biggest names set to compete for England include London 2012 gold medallists Mo Farah, boxer Nicola Adams and cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins, who also won the Tour de France in 2012.

England finished third behind Australia and hosts India at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games with a total of 142 medals including 37 gold.
