Etherington and Powell became the most successful British women in Winter Paralympic history after they bagged three silver medals in the visually impaired downhill, slalom and combined events, while also adding bronze in the super-G race.

"I'm really excited to be part of the celebrations for National Paralympic Day 2014," said 23-year-old Etherington.

"I'm so proud to be a Paralympian and it's great that we have an opportunity to come together on August 30 and really celebrate Paralympic sport.

"It's brilliant that this year we get to join the line-up of Paralympians in attendance on the day alongside our counterparts from London 2012 and represent winter sport for the first time."

Both Etherington and Powell will be joined by Charlotte Evans, the guide for Kelly Gallagher who claimed super-G gold in Sochi, as well as a host of other Paralympic stars in London on August 30.

"This time last year Kelly and I were away on the slopes in training for Sochi, so I'm really looking forward to being at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this year to meet as many people as possible, cheer on the GB athletes who are competing and soak up the atmosphere on National Paralympic Day," said Evans.

This is the second year of the event that was launched by the British Paralympic Association in a bid to capitalise on the success of London 2012 and increase participation in and awareness of disability sport.

Last year at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, British athletes took part in a series of events against other nations and they will do so again this time round with competition scheduled to take place in wheelchair basketball, swimming, goalball and boccia.

As well as the chance to see athletes in competition, visitors to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will also experience The Liberty Festival to showcase the finest talent in disability sport and arts.

On the same day activities and events will also be happening in Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool.

Glasgow will celebrate National Paralympic Day with a winter sport focus while events are also set to take place at Chavasse Park, Liverpool and Birmingham's Centenary Square.

Across all four cities fans will get the chance to meet and greet athletes and try out Paralympic sports.
