Tokyo Governor Yoichi Masuzoe met with London Mayor Boris Johnson during a visit to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London ©TMGTokyo's Governor Yoichi Masuzoe has visited London to inspect the facilities built for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. 


He also held talks with London Mayor Boris Johnson about how the British capital has used the Games to regenerate the area and its legacy plans.

During his visit to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Masuzoe inspected East Village, formerly part of the Athletes' Village and which is now a combination of new private and social housing. 

He also toured Here East, the Main Press Centre and International Broadcast Centre, which is now a digital quarter providing more than 7,500 jobs on site and in the local community.

A number of key tenants are already in place, such as BT Sport, who began broadcasting from the site in August 2013 from a new, state of the art 80,000 square foot production hub and studios. 

Later, Masuzoe met with Johnson, who expressed his confidence that the Japanese capital would stage a successful Olympics and Paralympics in 2020.
