The 2015 World Archery Championships begin in Copenhagen on July 26 ©World ArcheryTickets have gone on sale for the finals of this year's World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, with the tournament giving nations their first chance of a securing a qualification place for Rio 2016.

Quota spots will be available to countries based on performance at the Championships ahead of the Olympic Games next year.

There are 24 quota places per gender up for grabs in the team event in Denmark, with eight individual spots for men and eight for women also at stake.

The event is due to begin at the picturesque setting at Sundby Idrætspark on July 26, with the finals taking place on August 1 and 2. 

Entry is free up until July 31, and prices for the finals days - which take place in front of the Danish Parliament - start at €10 (£8/$15) per person.

Spectators can also purchase full weekend tickets for approximately €30 (£24/$40) with the finals days split into a morning session and an afternoon session.

Up to 4,000 fans are expected to attend the Championships and Rolf Lind, President of the Danish Archery Federation, is hoping Denmark can host another memorable sporting event.

"Thanks to hosting the World Cup in 2009 we have great experience in staging a major international archery event," he said. 

"We are teaming up with Sport Event Denmark and Wonderful Copenhagen to make sure the World Archery Championships 2015 will be a memorable event with long-term legacies."

Hosting the World Archery Championships represents another coup for Denmark as the country has staged the World Road Cycling Championships, the European Volleyball Championships and the World Badminton Championships - among another notable events - since 2011.
