insidethegames.biz has been announced as an official media partner of this year’s sambo President’s Cup in Manchester.

The second edition of event, organised by the Commonwealth Sambo Association and the British Sambo Federation under the auspices of Sambo International Federation, is due to be held at Event City on September 27.

The Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Sir Warren Smith, will open the competition in which teams from Russia, Great Britain, France, Spain, Germany and three Commonwealth countries will battle it out for the prestigious trophy.

Men will compete in the 62 kilogram, 68kg, 74kg, 82kg and 90kg weight categories, while women will contest the 60kg and 68kg classes.

Running alongside the President’s Cup, the “British Combat Sambo Grand Slam” will also take place as a promotional event in an open weight category.

It has also been announced that Russia's leading Government news agency TASS will be the official information partner of the event.

The TASS international multimedia press centre is scheduled to hold a pre-event press conference before the Russian team, winners of last year's sambo President's Cup in Kent, leaves for Manchester.

On September 26, a British press conference will be held for local and international media already gathered in Manchester.

Other media partners of the event include the International Sports Press Association as well as the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" newspaper, published by the Russian Federation Government, and Bauer Radio, part of Bauer Media Group.
