The International Tennis Federation has revealed that the Flanders Expo will stage the showpiece occasion between November 27 and 29.

Matches will take place indoors with hosts Belgium opting for clay as it is the surface most likely to unsettle Britain's world number three ranked star Andy Murray.

The venue has a capacity of 13,000.

Tennis Vlaanderen President Dirk de Maeseneer said: “Ghent will fully support the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas final.

"As the third biggest city in Belgium, it has a lot of experience in hosting top international events, such as the Tour of Flanders, the arrival of the Tour de France in 2007 and the Gymnastics World Championships in 2001 and 2013.”

Belgium beat Argentina in their semi-final in Brussels at the weekend, earning their first Davis Cup final appearance since 1904.

They have never won the annual team tennis competition while Britain will be appearing in their first final since 1978 after overcoming Australia in the last four in Glasgow.

The British heavily rely on Murray, who won all three points required against the Australians, including the key doubles clash with his brother Jamie.

Clay is said to be his weakest surface but he has still reached the semi-finals of the French Open, the grand slam on clay, three times.

Ruben Bemelmans, Steve Darcis and David Goffin were used by the Belgians in their victory.
