The Boccia International Sports Federation (BISFed) has confirmed that Member Federations have until midnight on Sunday (December 20) to complete their intention to compete at the 2016 World Individual Championships in Beijing.

BISFed claim that all Federations have now received invitations to the event, due to take place from March 19 to 26 and which will provide competitors with the last opportunity to earn vital Paralympic qualification points for Rio 2016.

The international governing body is set to announce the confirmed slots early next year and has urged any Federations that have not received information to e-mail [email protected] as soon as possible.

Each individual winner at the World Individual Championships will earn automatic qualification for the Paralympic Games, and the competition will be held in the same venue that successfully hosted the 2014 Boccia World Championships.

The former is due to run from April 26 to May 2, while the latter is scheduled for June 13 to June 19.

Competition at the Paralympic Games is set to be made up of seven events and held at the Carioca Arena 2 in the Rio 2016 Olympic Park.
