St-Gelais won gold in the 1500m yesterday and then silver in the 500m, but was fifth in both disciplines today which did not prove enough to hang onto the overall lead.

The 19-year-old double Olympic medallist tallied 68 points to win his first individual world crown ahead of Canada's Charles Hamelin, today's winner over 1000m who finished on 48.

Hungary took bronze as overnight leader Liu Shaolin Sandor, the 500m champion, ended on 41 points.

Han's 3000m win saw him pip South Korean Park Se-yeong into silver with Hamelin third.

The Canadian, a triple Olympic champion, took the 1000m title ahead of fellow countryman Samuel Girard and China's Wu Dajing.

Two relays were also held on the final day in Seoul, with South Korea delighting their fans by winning the women's 3000m event ahead of Canada and Russia, a success which sealed another gold for Choi.

In the men's 5000m race, China, featuring Han, took gold with Canada second and the Koreans third.
