Designed by PEAK, founded in China in 1989, the collection features both casual and competitive garments for the Ukrainian delegation at next month’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

They depict the iconic yellow and blue colours of the Ukrainian flag and were created by Andre Tan, who took out a patent to for the exclusive “Diamond Ukraine” Olympic collection.

According to the NOCU, the outfits feature modern technology which will ensure maximum comfort for athletes who are due to represent the nation at the Games.

The uniform will also account for the distinctive tropical climate of Brazil during the winter months, the body claim.

It was unveiled at a special ceremony, attended by Bubka, Zhdanov and a host of top athletes from the European nation, who will aim to return from Rio 2016 with an improvement on the 20 medals, six of which were gold, they achieved at London 2012.

Gymnast Ganna Rizatdinova, high jumpers Yulia Levchenko and Iryna Herashchenko and 2012 World Championships 200 metres backstroke gold medallist Daryna Zevina all appeared at the event to unveil the outfits.

“202 athletes from Ukraine have already qualified for Rio Games which are to start on August 5,” Bubka said.

“There are no 'nothings' at a major event like this, and the first impression is a half of the battle.

“I am happy Ukraine's Olympians will look great and feel comfortable at the Olympic Village and other Rio 2016 venues.

“We had wonderful experience at the first European Games in Baku 2015 here many experts notified Ukraine's outfit as one of the liveliest at the Opening Ceremony.

“Athletes dressed in PEAK Sport clothes attract photographers' attention at the Youth Olympics, European Games and European Youth Olympic festivals.
