The schedule of events for the first four months of the 2017 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour has been revealed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Players are set to participate across the world in the opening stages of the series of competitions, beginning with the Super Series tournament - the International Sydney Wheelchair Tennis Open - from January 11 to 15.

The first major of the season, the Australian Open, is then due to place in Melbourne, with wheelchair events scheduled for January 25 to 28.

Another key tournament in the opening month of the campaign is the Cryuff Foundation Junior Masters, named after the late Dutch footballing legend Johan Cruyff, who passed away aged 68 in March.

The competition is due to be held in the French commune of Tarbes from January 26 to 29.

Competitors on the circuit, the ITF’s flagship series of events, then have a brief break before action is scheduled to resume in February with a number of Futures tournaments - the lowest level on the series, as well as the ABN Amro Tournament in Rotterdam from February 14 to 18.

The sport’s top names are also likely to enter the Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge in the United States from March 22 to 26 before the second Super Series event of the season - the SA Open in Johannesburg - is due to be staged from April 10 to 14.

The ITF have also announced dates and venues for the World Team Cup will be confirmed in due course.

Two qualification events will be held in the first four months of the season as Nairobi in Kenya welcomes African players from February 16 to 19, before the Asian qualifier is held in Fukuoka from February 26 to March 1.
