September 9 - Annecy today launched a series of official merchandise designed to allow people to demonstrate their support for its bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

This initial range includes tee-shirts, caps, umbrellas, key-rings, bracelets, writing kits while a premium group of products will be released soon.

These will include a Opinel knife and the Angel des Montagnes brand, partnering Annecy 2018 with a perfumed candle.

Another flagship item will be a recyclable water flask made by the world famous SIGG brand, a particular favourite among nature sports enthusiasts.

It is an original and varied range, reflecting the cornerstones of our bid, namely: a celebration of sport, nature and youth, Annecy officials claimed.

"Above all, this range of merchandise is a response to the massive support we are getting from the French population," said Edgar Grospiron, the chief executive of Annecy 2018, at the official opening of the e-store.

"It's totally in phase with the spirit of our bid, with its focus on sport, nature and youth.

"What is more, we are fortunate to have the second-to-none expertise of our marketing partners, which we are currently putting to good use in our Bid Book."

The range is available at numerous points of sale and in the e-store accessible via www.annecy2018.com.
