Markus Mendy Swoboda was victories as the Para-canoe World Cup continued in Szeged, Hungary.

The Austrian emerged as the winner of the men’s VL2 200 metres event by finishing in a time of 51.898sec.

Germany’s Ivo Kilian ended as the silver medallist by crossing the line in 52.959, while Giuseppe Di Lelio of Italy came third in 55.167.

The men’s KL3 200m final saw Serhii Yemelianov claim victory, with the Ukrainian ending in a time of 39.254.

Russia’s Leonid Krylov and Artem Voronkov rounded off the podium places, finishing in 39.808 and 40.262 respectively.

Cindy Moreau emerged as the winner of the final para-canoe event of the day, triumphing in the women’s KL3 200m.

The Frenchwoman achieved a time of 50.653 to secure a comfortable win.

The Rio 2016 bronze medal winner was followed across the finish by Sweden’s Helene Ripa, who clocked 52.307.

Canada’s Erica Scarff rounded off the podium, finishing in a time of 52.460.

The World Cup will continue tomorrow.
