The Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC) have celebrated World Sports and Environment Day by holding a series of sporting activities in Pristina.

Over 150 children participated in events in the capital Pristina on June 5.

Activities on the day included curling, darts, football, jumping and table tennis.

Curling was considered the most unknown sport to the children taking part in the celebrations.

To increase their understanding of the sport, the KOC welcomed curling expert Peter Andersen to the event, having travelled from Canada.

The KOC, as well as holding the sporting activities, showed their commitment to the environment by planting a tree in Skanderbeg Square.

KOC President Besim Hasani joined with children to plant the “Olympic Tree”.

He claimed the tree would grow together with the children.

The KOC and the children present also conducted a clean-up of the Nena Tereze Square as part of the event.
