Jantan clocked a time of 10.38sec to beat the Philippines’ Eric Shauwn Cray by a margin of 0.05sec at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

Thailand’s Kritsada Namsuwun clocked the same time as Cray, but had to settle for the bronze medal after the photo finish was studied.

Vietnam's Le Tu Chinh won the women's 100m with a time of 11.56, while Malaysia's Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli claimed the silver medal after finishing second in 11.74.

Singapore's Veronica Shanti Pereira came away with the bronze in 11.76.

The men’s and women’s marathon events were also held today with Singapore’s Guillaume Soh Rui Yong winning the former and the Philippines’ Mary Joy Reyes Tabal the latter.

Soh Rui Yong triumphed in 2:29:27 with Indonesia’s Agus Prayogo second in 2:31:20 and Malaysia’s Muhaizar bin Mohamad third in 2:31:52.

Tabal came out on top in 2:48:26 followed by Vietnam’s Hoàng Thị Thanh in 2:55:43 and Thailand’s Natthaya Thanaronnawat in 2:58:17.

Hosts Malaysia won three gold medals today in karate with Celine Lee Xin Yi, Lim Chee Wei and Senthil Kumaran Silvarajoo all prevailing at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Celine registered a 5-0 win over Indonesia’s Sisilia Agustiani Ora in the women's individual kata final, while Lim edged Ahmad Zigi Zaresta Yuda, also of Indonesia, 3-2 in the men's equivalent.

Silvarajoo followed up with the third gold medal in the men's kumite under 60 kilograms category thanks to a 5-3 victory over the Philippines’ Jayson Ramil Macaalay.

In the women's kumite over 68kg category final, Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Hong Anh beat Malaysia’s Pressy Misty Philip 3-1.

Indonesia’s Dessynta Rakawuni Banurea and Thailand’s Saowarot Samseemoung won the bronze medals.

Singapore ruled the pool on the second day of swimming events by grabbing three gold medals at the National Aquatic Center.

Quah Zheng Wen cruised to victory in the men’s 200m butterfly event in 1:57.95.

Malaysia’s Tia'a Faang Der was the runner-up in 2:01.04, while Thailand’s Navaphat Wongcharoen came third in 2:01.06.

Another Singaporean gold medal came courtesy of Roanne Ho Ru'en, who won the women's 50m breaststroke in a Games record time of 31.29.  

Malaysia’s Phee Jinq En finished second in 31.54 and Singapore’s Samantha Louisa Yeo Ginn came third in 32.17.

Olympic gold medallist Joseph Schooling led Singapore to their third title of the day with victory in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay in a Games record time of 3:17.85.

Darren Lim Fang Yue, Danny Yeo Kai Quan and Quah completed the team.

Malaysia were the silver medallists in 3:21.79, while Indonesia took the bronze in 3:23.65.

On the final day of wushu competition, Loh Jack Chang and Ho Mun Hua contributed two more gold medals for Malaysia at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Battling a knee injury, the 30-year-old Loh scored 9.66 points to win the men's taijiquan event.

Victory secured his second gold medal of the Games after winning the men's taijijian event on Sunday (August 20).

Singapore's Samuel Tan Wei Han garnered a score of 9.52 for the silver medal and Myanmar's Khant Min Htet clinched the bronze with 9.36.

Ho, meanwhile, accumulated 9.67 for the nanquan category gold medal, winning by a mere 0.01 ahead of Vietnam's Quoc Khanh Pham.

Brunei’s Mohd Sufi Shayiran bin Roslan rounded out the podium on 9.65.
