This included golds in both the men's youth and junior 69 kilograms competitions and a bronze in the senior equivalent.

Muthupandi Raja added to India's haul by winning the boys 62kg gold with a score of 260kg and a silver in the junior 62kg event on the same total.

It emerged today that Nigerian weightlifters may be forced to miss Gold Coast 2018 after failing to compete at these championships.

The squad, made up of Chineye Fidelis, Oluwatoyin Adesanmi, Bilikis Otunla and Mariam Usman, reportedly missed the competition in Gold Coast due to an insufficient amount of funding.

According to Nigeria's Punch Newspapers, the team had been granted visas to compete but the Nigerian Weightlifting Federation were unable to secure the financial backing required.
