The final parallel giant slalom races before the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics will be held at the International Ski Federation Snowboard World Cup in Bankso from tomorrow.

It means action in the Bulgarian resort will give male and female athletes the chance to hone their preparations for the Games in South Korea next month.

However, important World Cup points will also be up for grabs with only two parallel giant slalom events remaining following two races each for men and women in Bankso.

In the women's event, Czech Republic's Ester Ledecká is dominating the season having won all four parallel giant slalom races held this season.

It means she leads the discipline's standings with a maximum 4,000 points, as well as the overall parallel leaderboard on 4,290.

Ledecká's nearest challenger in both standings is Ramona Hofmeister of Germany, but she only has 3,530 in the overall standings and 2,510 in the parallel giant slalom.

Austria's Julia Dujmovits and Sabine Schoeffmann will also look to challenge in Bankso.

The men's event looks more open with a different winner at every World Cup race held this season.

Switzerland's Nevin Galmarini leads both standings with 3,730 overall and 3,010 for the discipline.

He will be challenged by Italy's Roland Fischnaller, who has 3,490 and 2,290 in the two respective rankings and is second in both.

Radoslav Yankov of Bulgaria will also hope to make a mark on home snow after winning the parallel giant slalom World Cup title last term.

The first event will take place tomorrow with the second on Sunday (January 28).

Snowboard Cross World Cup action will also take place in Bankso on Saturday (January 27).
