World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) head Sakis Pragalos has praised the introduction of the first European President's Cup for Children.
The event was staged in Sindelfingen on February 3 and 4.
Kyorugi, poomsae, freestyle poomsae and family poomsae competitions were all held, with competitors aged between six and 14.
Medallists had the incentive to earn a place at the WTE European Kids Championships.
"Now we proceed one step further and give to even more children the chance to take part in a European Championship," said Greece's Pragalos, the WTE President.
"For the young players that is a formative experience, which helps them tremendously in their development as athletes.
"The kids of today are the champions but also the instructors and the promoters of taekwondo of tomorrow.
"Therefore, WTE makes a special effort to support these children - our future."
The event, held at the Glaspalast Sindelfingen indoor arena, was the opening European tournament of 2018.
The third edition of the senior President's Cup will be held in Greek capital Athens between April 25 and 29.
