The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation's Americas zone has announced that the Costa Rica Paralympic Federation (FPCR) will host the Men’s 2018 Central America and Caribbean Championship.

The event is due to take place in San Jose from October 20 to 28.

The Championship will serve to qualify two teams to the Parapan American Games that will be held in Lima in August 2019.

The FPCR has a good track record of hosting well-run events, such as the CentroBasket in 2016.

Already qualified for the event are Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Guatemala, who were the top finishing team at the Para Central American Games in Nicaragua in January.

Four more spots are available for IWBF Americas member nations in the Caribbean and are offered on an open registration basis.
