The Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation (THF) has been gaining global attention at championships around the world since the start of the year.

With more than a thousand athletes taking part at the 2018 Texas State Taekwondo Championships, which took place at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Houston from March 16 to 17, there was an ideal opportunity to promote the organisation's work.

At the end of the competition, Grandmaster Inseon Kim, a World Taekwondo Council Member and President of the Texas State Taekwondo Association, along with executive members of the state body, donated a cheque of $10,000 (£7,300/€8,300) to the THF.

The THF then gained more recognition at the 2018 Africa Senior Championships in the Moroccan city of Agadir last month.

After the competition Ahmed Fouly, President of Africa's Taekwondo Continental Union and also a World Taekwondo Council Member, presented a donation of $5,000 (£3,600/€4,100).

These donations come as a result of the THF's decision to launch a major campaign to encourage support and promotion of the foundation worldwide last year.

At the launch, World Taekwondo member associations and continental unions were presented with a Humanitarian Charter and an activation plan of how to implement the charter within their area.

The THF works to introduce the sport to refugees around the world.
