The Women's Under-17 Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Championship, which was postponed last month in Nicaragua after just six matches following violent protests, will resume in Florida in June.

The tournament was underway in Nicaragua when violence in the country saw at least 25 people killed.

The protests occurred amid a backlash to President Daniel Ortega's planned changes to social security, which have since been scrapped.

Action will now resume at the IMG Academy in Bradenton on June 6 when group matches will conclude.

All of the results from Nicaragua will still stand.

A CONCACAF statement at the time read: "CONCACAF determined that to guarantee the safety of the delegations, and all participants and fans, the cancellation will apply to all matches and events and take immediate effect.

"The Confederation has taken the decision to cancel the remainder of the tournament following vigilant monitoring of the situation as it has developed, and in close coordination with the Nicaraguan Football Federation and local authorities."

The other two teams in the group, Puerto Rico and former hosts Nicaragua, have already been eliminated from the competition

In Group B, new hosts and defending champions the United States sit top of the table with neighbours Canada in second.

Bermuda and Costa Rica are in third and fourth respectively.

Group winners, plus the second-place finishers, will advance to the semi-finals to be played on June 10.

The final and third place play-off will take place on June 12.

The event also serves as a qualifier for the FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay, scheduled to take place from November 13 to December 1.
