Delegates can now register for the International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments (INAS) Eligibility Conference, which is being held in the French capital Paris from July 18 to 19.

The programme will include an update on eligibility from INAS executive director Nick Parr as well as a presentation on classification research.

Information about the Intellectual Disability and Equal Opportunities for Active and Long-term Participation in Sport project, which is currently being run throughout Europe, will also be given while there will be a workshop and question and answer session on eligibility.

Additionally, there will be a session on the latest research findings into the trial eligibility groups II2 and II3.

II2 is for athletes with a more significant impairment while II3 is for athletes with autism.

INAS head of eligibility Jan Burns said she was looking forward to the event.

"As part of our strategic goal to develop a gold standard for athlete eligibility, we are planning what we hope will be a useful and insightful programme for the conference," she said.

"We believe it is a great chance to share best practice and help to build a stronger system in the future.

"By inviting all national eligibility officers and anyone else who has an interest, we are aiming to build on the two previous editions.

"These helped deliver real improvements because we were able to deliver education face-to-face, and openly discuss the challenges and benefits experienced at a national level.

"I am looking forward to welcoming delegates to Paris in July for yet another great INAS Eligibility Conference."

Registration for the event closes on June 20 and is not only open to national eligibility officers, but also to anyone with an interest in the topic.

The event is being run alongside the 2018 INAS European Summer Games, which will take place from July 14 to 22 and feature eight sports.

The cycling and tennis competitions at the event are open to athletes outside of Europe with the tournaments acting as a 2018 World Championship for those sports.
