Iran have topped the medal standings at the 2018 Asian Para-Taekwondo Championships, claiming six golds, one silver and two bronzes in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Three of the country’s half-dozen triumphs came courtesy of Mehdi Pourrahnama, Hamed Haghshenas and Saeed Sadeghianpour in the men's under 75 kilograms K44, men's over 75kg K44 and men's under 65kg K42 categories respectively. 

There were also wins for Ahmad Narimani in the men's over 75kg K42, Mehdi Bahrami-Azar in the men's over 75kg K43 and Mahtab Nabavi in the women's under 49kg K41. 

Asghar Azizi came away with the men's over 75kg K44 silver medal, while Mohammad Reza Shabani and Nabavi were the two bronze medallists for Iran. 

Uzbekistan finished second in the medal standings.

Mongolia ranked third.

Competition took place at the Phú Thọ Indoor Stadium.

It was the fourth edition of the Asian Para-Taekwondo Championships.
