The Hall of Fame was established earlier this year to honour the people who have been influential to the sport, both on and off the court.

The establishment was also aimed at marking the 25th anniversary of the governing body, which was formed in 1993.

IWRF have welcomed the agreement with California based Vesco Metal Craft, who have been manufacturing wheelchair rugby chairs since 2002.

"We are excited to welcome Vesco as the exclusive partner of the IWRF's Hall of Fame," said John Bishop, IWRF President.

"As a long time manufacturer of rugby wheelchairs, Vesco will be a great fit in this role, and we look forward to working with them.

"They share in our passion for the sport, and desire to help grow the global wheelchair rugby family."

As part of the agreement Vesco will provide several fully equipped rugby chairs to be sold at auction or by other means by IWRF, over the four-year duration of the agreement.

All proceeds will be used to fund Hall of Fame activities, including induction ceremonies for members.

"With so many outstanding wheelchair rugby players worldwide, the time is right to show these great athletes the recognition they so greatly deserve, and the IWRF Hall of Fame is the perfect venue to showcase their achievements," said Tom Vesco, vice-president of Vesco.

"We at Vesco consider it an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to be the exclusive sponsor of the IWRF Hall of Fame."

The first inductions into the Hall of Fame will take place next month at the Canada Cup in Vancouver.

Inductions will also be made at the IWRF World Championship in Sydney during August.

A virtual IWRF Hall of Fame will be launched by the governing body online in the coming months.
