Australia's Jessica Fox will hope to maintain her fine start to the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Slalom World Cup season in Augsburg.

Fox earned victories in both the C1 and K1 classes at the first World Cup in Slovakia, before repeating the feat last weekend in Krakow, Poland.

Germany’s World Cup winner Ricarda Funk will aim to provide competition to Fox in the K1 competition in front of a home crowd.

Britain’s Mallory Franklin will target victory in the C1 discipline, with the world champion hoping to bounce back from missing the final last weekend.

Franklin’s compatriot Joseph Clarke will look to claim back-to-back wins in the men’s K1 class, with the Olympic champion hoping to replicate his Krakow triumph.

Home hopes are expected to be high in the men’s C1 competition, with Sideris Tasiadis competing at a local venue.

Tasiadis already has one victory this season to his name, having triumphed at the opening event in Slovakia.

He will compete with Elena Apel in the mixed C2 event as well in Augsburg, marking their debut in the discipline.

More than 250 athletes are expected to feature throughout the weekend’s racing, with competition running through until Sunday (July 8).

Almost 40 countries are due to be represented.

Competition is taking place at the Augsburg Eiskanal, the canoe slalom course built for the Munich 1972 Olympic Games.
