The third Grand Prix of the season began with the men’s 10 metres synchronised platform event and women’s three metre synchronised springboard finals at the Lido di Bolzano.

China’s Xiaohu Tai and Bowen Huang combined to good effect to win the men’s competition, the pair topping the standings on 399.27 points.

They ended a comfortable 37.11 points clear of Britain’s James Heatly and Lucas Thomson, who settled for second place on 362.16.

The bronze medal was earned by the local duo of Vladimir Barbu and Mattia Placidi, the Italians ending on 356.88 points. 

Chinese success continued in the women’s synchronised springboard event, with Yiwen Chen and Chunting Wu claiming victory.

The pairing finished the final with a score of 298.95 points for a dominant victory.

United States’ Krysta Palmer and Alison Gibson were second on 268.11 points and Russia’s Tatiana Stepanova and Daria Selvanovskaia completed the podium with a score of 248.40.

The women’s 10m platform event is due to take place tomorrow along with the men’s 3m springboard.

Four events are scheduled to conclude on the final day of the event on Sunday (July 8).

The day is set to begin with the women’s 10m synchronised platform and men’s 3m synchronised springboard finals.

The women’s 3m springboard and men’s 10m platform will be the last two competitions to conclude.
