Val di Fiemme is set to host its first men's Ski Jumping World Cup since 2012 after being selected to replace Liberec ©Wikipedia

A leg of the 2018-2019 men's Ski Jumping World Cup, originally due to take place in Liberec in the Czech Republic before it was cancelled, has been re-allocted to Italy.

The competition will now take place instead in Val di Fiemme, a valley in the Trentino province located in the Dolomites mountain region.

It is due to be held on January 12 and 13 next year, the International Ski Federation (FIS) has announced.

it will be the first men's Ski Jumping World Cup event there 2012 when Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer and Poland's Kamil Stoch won the two events. 

The following year in 2013 Val di Fiemme hosted the FIS Nordic World Championships having previously hosted it in 1991 and 2003.

Stoch won the gold medal on the large hill and Norway's Anders Bardal on the normal hill.

Austria took the team title. 

Val di Fiemme will be one of 19 venues due to stage events during the 2018-2019 season

It is due to start in Wisła in Poland on November 18 and conclude in Planica in March.
