Diving superpower China continued their success on the International Swimming Federation Grand Prix circuit as their athletes earned two golds today in Madrid.

China won eight gold medals at last weekend’s Grand Prix at Bolzano in Italy and began in similar fashion at the indoor Centro de Natación.

Yiwen Chen was among those to top the podium in Italy and she repeated the feat by winning the women’s three metres springboard competition.

The Chinese diver ended with a score of 342.90 points.

She was followed by her team-mate Xiaohui Huang, who scored 337.95 to take the silver medal.

Bronze was earned by United States’ Brooke Schultz, after she managed a score of 312.70 at the end of the five rounds.

Chinese success continued in the men's 10m platform event, as Xiaohu Tai finished at the top of the standings.

A score of 462.90 was enough to take the gold ahead of his compatriot Bowen Huang, who ended second with 457.55 points.

Britain's Aidan Heslop finished as the bronze medallist on 390.60.

Action will continue with the women’s synchronised platform competition tomorrow morning.

It will be followed by an Opening Ceremony in the afternoon, which will precede the men's 3m springboard final.

Four finals will take place on Sunday (July 14), as competition draws to a conclusion.
