Nigeria and Morocco will meet in the African Youth Games boys' football final after winning last four encounters in Algiers.

Nigeria were forced to overcome the challenge of hosts Algeria if they were to reach the gold medal competition.

A strong display saw Nigeria secure a 2-0 win in the match to set up a clash Morocco, a team they had earned a 3-2 win over in the group stage.

Morocco had recovered from the setback to earn a place in the semi-finals.

They will now seek revenge against Nigeria having won their last four tie against Cameroon, 3-2.

The final is scheduled to take place on Saturday (July 28).

Nigeria are the defending African Youth Games champions.

South Africa were crowned men's hockey gold medallists by beating Zambia 2-0 on penalties, after the match ended 1-1.

Both teams secured qualification to the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympics.

A total of 30 sports feature on the programme for the Games, which will conclude on Saturday.

Action has been taking place in athletics, archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, fencing, equestrian, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey and judo.

The programme is completed by karate, rowing, rugby, swimming, sailing, boules, tennis, table tennis, shooting, triathlon, taekwondo, volleyball, wushu and weightlifting.
