Hughes was present at the two-day event in Victoria on July 28 and 29, which was aimed at offering expertise to the next generation of riders.

Around 60 snowboarders, aged between nine and 19-years-old, participated at the event.

Ski and Snowboard Australia claim the event saw snowboarders guided through on and off snow sessions to help them develop their current skills.

"Athletes were coached by Australian national team members and New South Wales Institute of Sport athletes, providing them with an opportunity to ask these athletes direct questions about their experiences and journey," said Jason Clauscen, the federation’s snowboard cross head coach.

"The younger athletes also had the opportunity to meet fellow snowboard cross riders from all over the country and ride with new friends."

Hughes attended the event, which was s part of the Ski and Snowboard Australia’s futures programme.

The 23-year-old earned men’s snowboard cross silver at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics earlier this year, while he is also a Winter X Games gold medallist.

He was joined by fellow Olympians Alex Pullin, Cameron Bolton, Adam Lambert and Belle Brockhoff, along with expert coaches.

The sessions introduced showing athletes "what it takes" to compete at elite level, it is claimed.

This included showing them skills such as technical, jump and start gate training.

A focus was also placed on side by side racing, education, tactical preparation and equipment set up.
