Saudi Arabia successfully defended their International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments World Football Championships title as they beat Argentina 2-0 in the final in Sweden.

The reigning champions produced a dominant and controlled performance to retain their crown at the Tingvalla IP in Karlstad.

Abdullah Al Dosari inspired Saudi Arabia with two goals, the first a superb free-kick to give his side the lead after just 10 minutes.

Al Dosari then doubled their advantage 14 minutes later and it was a deficit Argentina were unable to recover from.

Chances were few and far between in the second half as Saudi Arabia held on for victory, sparking wild scenes of jubilation as substitutes and coaching staff poured onto the pitch to celebrate.

Saudi Arabia had reached the final by defeating France, while Argentina had overcome Poland to secure their place in the tournament's showpiece contest.

Poland swept aside their French opponents 4-1 in the third-place play-off to finish the competition on a high.
