As the Pan American Archery Championships in Medellín in Colombia prepared itself for a concluding day of gold medal matches, including the women’s recurve final between Mexico’s Alejandra Valencia and Mackenzie Brown of the United States, numerous other titles were settled today. 

Andrew Shelby of the United States won the gold medal match in the compound master men event, beating Colombia’s Eliseo Gonzalez Ladino 140-139.

The compound master women event also went to a US archer as Teresa Wallace earned a 125-124 victory over compatriot Martha Chavez.

Mexico’s Carlos Vaca took the recurve cadet men title, beating Trenton Cowles of the United States 6-5.

Vaca’s compatriot Valentina Vasquez was an overwhelming winner of the cadet women title, defeating Colombia’s Mariana Ospina Quintana 7-1.

Colombia’s Santiago Arcila won the recurve junior men title with a 6-5 win over Alex Gilliam of the United States.

And Arcila’s fellow countrywoman Valentina Acosta Giraldo secured the recurve junior women title, defeating Brazil’s Ana Machado 6-0.

The final day is also due to see gold medal matches in the men’s recurve, between Canada’s Crispin Duenas and Ernesto Boardman of Mexico, and the compound women, where Colombia’s Sara Lopez meets compatriot Nora Valdez.
