Women's Sledge Hockey of Canada has revealed its 16-member national team for the 2018 to 2019 campaign.

The squad includes 11 members of last season's team as they bid to build on finishing as runners-up at the Women’s Para Ice Hockey World Cup in Ostrava in the Czech Republic in May.

Head coach Tara Chisholm and assistant coach Derek Whitson, along with independent assessors, have chosen the squad for the upcoming season.

The announcement followed a three-day selection camp, attended by 24 players.

"We are looking forward to this upcoming season with a large number of veteran players returning," said Chisholm.

"The level of skill at selection camp was noticeably higher from past years.

"We are also encouraged to see the potential of the younger players who did not make the squad this year as it will only add to the depth of our organisation.”

The exact line-up will be confirmed following a goaltender training camp in Alberta next month.

The three goaltenders picked on the squad - Jessie Gregory, Sophie Forest and Tuyet Yurczyszyn - will battle it out for their spot on the final team.

The team includes a number of returning players alongside Camille Lalonde, considered a promising rookie.
