Denmark's Camilla Soegaard successfully followed up her women's long-distance triumph from yesterday by winning today's sprint event as action concluded at the third and final round of the Mountain Bike Orienteering (MTBO) World Cup in Odemira in Portugal.

Soegaard clocked a time of 15 min 53sec to hold off Great Britain's Clare Dallimore, who finished seven seconds behind in the runners-up spot.

Home favourite Marisa Costa completed the top three in 16:19.

Despite her victory today, Soegaard had to settle for second spot in the overall World Cup rankings behind Czech Republic's Martina Tichovska, the fourth-place finisher today.

Tichovska amassed a total of 365 points with Soegaard on 304 and Czech Republic's Veronika Kubinova, who came fifth today, third on 268.
