"What we've seen with the five-rock rule so far this week, it's so easy to spin a deuce [when you're behind] and you can't afford to take your foot off the gas pedal, and sometimes that's what happens," said Canadian skip Michael Anderson.

"That was the best stretch of four ends that we've played all week.

"They gave me a chance; it was one of those things where you just look at the broom and you know you've made it the moment you let it go.

"It's a really good feeling."

Norway defeated Switzerland 6-4, while Russia beat Turkey 11-2 and Spain were eventual 6-4 winners against Germany.

The final day of action of the competition will take place tomorrow, with the semi-finals in the morning and the bronze and gold medal games in the afternoon.
