Rain in the Colombian city of Barranquilla forced the cancellation of two games at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Under-23 Baseball World Cup.

The afternoon Group A game between the Netherlands and South Africa was initially delayed at the Edgar Renteria Baseball Stadium before the continuous rain forced the cancellation, with the evening game of Chinese Taipei against Colombia also abandoned.

Both games have been rearranged for Wednesday (October 24), originally a rest day.

The morning game did manage to go ahead, with defending champions Japan beating Mexico 7-2.

Group B games at the Estadio de Beisbol 18 de Junio in Montería were also still played, with Australia beating the Dominican Republic 4-3 and the Republic of Korea defeating Puerto Rico 6-3.

Venezuela were 8-2 victors against the Czech Republic.

Organisers will be hoping for better weather as the action is due to continue tomorrow.

In Group A, Japan are scheduled to play The Netherlands, South Africa will meet Chinese Taipei and Colombia come up against Mexico.

Group B is set to see South Korea against Australia, Venezuela play Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico encounter the Czech Republic.
