Eliska Pribylova and Ondrej Svechota doubled their gold medal tally at the International Modern Pentathlon Union's Biathle-Triathle World Championships in Hurghada.

The Czech duo had triumphed in the biathle mixed relay event yesterday in Egypt, which was a run-swim-run competition.

They teamed up again today in the triathle race, a swim-run-shoot event.

Pribylova and Svechota finished in a time of 17min 15sec to secure the gold medal in the competition.

The duo finished over one minute clear of their nearest challengers Valeriya Permykina and Vladyslav Rydvanskyi.

The Ukrainians settled for second place in 18:24.00.

Germany’s Lena Gottwald and Pierre Jander took bronze in 19:40.00.

Přibylová won the women's individual title at this event in Viveiro in Spain last year.

She will seek to defend that title this weekend, with individual events scheduled to begin tomorrow.

Close to 300 athletes from 24 countries are due to take part across the events in Egypt.
