Mary Hardwick has been appointed as the chair of British Triathlon and is due to replace current head Ian Howard in July 2019.

Once in position, Hardwick will lead the organisation for the next fiv- years, a period which includes the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo-

She will be in charge of developing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships, as well as ensuring that the board is being run effectively and efficiently. 

Hardwick has served as a British Triathlon Board member since 2013 and has participated in cricket, hockey and age-group triathlon at international level.

"I am absolutely delighted to become the chair of British Triathlon Federation at such an exciting time in the evolution of our sport, and to have the honour of leading our organisation to Tokyo 2020 and beyond," Hardwick said.

"Following on from the great work of our current President, Ian Howard, we have an exciting journey ahead to realise our collective ambition to make Britain the world’s leading triathlon nation in every aspect of our sport.”

Hardwick was selected through an open recruitment process to become Chair, a role which will replace the position of President.
